6 Ways How to Manage Stress in Life

Stress is a natural and normal part of life and from time to time everyone can experience stress and no one can escape from that. But the question is what will you do when the stress strikes you? when the stress occurs, you need to learn to handle it. It is important to do that because too much stress can make you physically ill and emotionally depressed. It actually can create mental confusion and spur you to say and even do things that you will be disappointed with. Down there you will find a few ways to handle stress:

Find Someone to Talk to. Whenever you feel anxiety (the feeling of unease, such as worry or fear) you should talk with your friend, a parent, a brother, or a sister (preferably face to face). Usually, it is advisable to talk with someone who can help you. Just keep in mind that you cannot eliminate stress, but you can learn to lessen it, bring it under control, then stress will never defeat you.

Organize and Limit Extra Activities. The old saying says: if you try to catch 2 hares at the same time, you will miss both of them. Organize your activities each day, and do one thing at a time. Work out a plan with your family members about when and how to care for tasks at home. You should not dive in reckless, stressful activities that bring you into situations that cause you discomfort and fright. Yes, it may be exciting for a moment but it will be destructive in the end.

Reduce Irritants. Small irritations such as a dripping tap, a creaking door, a wobbling table and so on, are all added to your total load of stress. You should do something about that (repair those small irritating things). Always have your often needed things on hand, organized. Some experts say that we spend 20% – 30% of our priceless time just for looking for things. Rearrange those things, make it comfortable. But hey do not become a perfectionist, because it may not be so perfect.

Overcoming Fear of Failure. School exams and work can sometimes be really stressful for any individual. You can actually reduce the fear of failure if you are prepared very well the day before the exam, go to bed early, and sleep well. Taking stimulants is not an option, they might put you on edge. Relax and do your best. Always keep in mind that one test seldom makes or breaks a person for life, if you fail, there will be other chances. Do not give up!

Listening to Soothing Music. Listening to soothing music can have an exceptionally relaxing effect on our minds and bodies, particularly slow, quiet classical music. This type of music can have a beneficial effect on our physiological functions, slowing the pulse and heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing the levels of stress hormones.(1)
