High-Intensity Interval training (HIIT) may have significant health benefits. Various researches show that it may lessen heart rate and blood pressure in overweight and obese people, who frequently have high blood pressure.

One study discovered that eight weeks of HIIT on an exercise bike (stationary bike) reduced blood pressure just as much as traditional nonstop endurance training in adults with high blood pressure. In this particular study, the endurance training group exercised 4 days weekly for half an hour daily, but the HIIT group only exercised 3 times weekly for twenty minutes daily.
