The role of diet in the development and treatment of cellulite has not been well researched. One group of scientists has suggested that eating habits that contain excessive amounts of carbs could make cellulite worse. This is because they think it may raise levels of the hormone insulin and promote a boost in total body fat. Besides, it’s also been suggested that a diet that includes a lot of salt may boost fluid retention, possibly making it appear worse. But, there is currently not much evidence to support these theories.

Even so, it’s still wise to make sure that your diet does not contain an excessive amount sugars or carbs. It’s additionally important to maintain a healthy weight and stay properly hydrated. This is because weight gain and aging are associated with an increased risk of developing cellulite. So having a healthy, balanced diet will probably be helpful. However, considering the fact that cellulite occurs in almost all women, completely avoiding it may not be possible.

Brief Summary: It’s currently questionable what role diet plays in the treatment and prevention of cellulite. On the other hand, maintaining a healthy diet, staying well hydrated and avoiding weight gain may be helpful.
