Lemon vs Lime – Difference and Comparison
Lemons and limes are citrus fruits which are highly acid. When we talk about the color and size, limes are green and small, while lemons are yellow and larger than limes, but limes are more acidic than lemons.
How Lemons and Limes Are Used
We mention above that lemons and limes are very acidic but they have slightly different flavors and scents. In fact, lemons have a sour, acidic taste, and the taste of limes is a bitter, acidic. These two fruits are commonly used in food preparation and cocktails, as well many different household products.

Drinks and Cocktails. The juice from lemons and limes can be found in many beverages around the world including in cocktails with alcohol. Their subtly unique flavors mean that when they are combined with the exact same alcoholic beverages can create various drinks. For instance, lemon juice combined with vodka is known as a lemon drop, on the other side when lime juice is combined with vodka is known as a gimlet.
Other Uses. Yes maybe Lime is little less commonly used in foods and drinks but it can be found in some perfumes and aromatherapies. Lemon-scented cleaning products are widely used and also slices of dried lemon are used in potpourri as well as other air fresheners. Beside that Lemon is between most popular flavors for throat lozenges.
Lemon and Lime pH. On the pH scale, lemon juice is registered between 2.00 and 2.60 and lime juice is between 2.00 and 2.35 which shows that Lime little more acidic that Lemon. In fact, lemons have slightly higher sugar content which makes them sweeter.
